GlobalFest is set to light up the sky in Calgary!!

The sun is shining in Calgary Stamped is coming to an end and now we can all get geared up for the next giant festival Globalfest!!! This year Alberta’s Most Explosive festival takes place from August 18-27 at Elliston Park in Calgary.

Cultural pavilions are set to take over the city and of course the wonderful spectacle of the fireworks festival over Elliston Lake is getting set to light up the sky.

 

There will be many cultural pavilions to enjoy this year including selections from Africa, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines, Scotland, Spain, Viva Mexico and many more!  And don’t forget to check out the great Ethnic food booths.  This year we get to experience the great tastes of Brazil, Caribbean, Chile, India, Indonesian Kitchen, Kurdish, Philippines, Taste of Quebec, Tryzub Ukrainian an Vietnam.  So many great choices, I don’t even know where to start! YUM!!!

This year of the fireworks start on Thursday August 18 with Brazil putting their best pyrotechnic  on display, the shows continue on Saturday Aug 20 with Chile,  Tuesday Aug 23 with Mexico, Thursday Aug 25 with the USA  and the Grande Finale of Canada on Saturday August 27.

Tickets are available at Calgary Co Ops and prices are

$15 if you buy your tickets before July 30

$20 July 31 on

Finale tickets are $20

You can also purchase a Globalpass for $75 ($65 on or before July 30) This pass will get one person admission to all five nights of the events!

Children aged five and under are free with an adult J

Elliston Park opens nightly at 6pm and the fireworks usually start around 9-9:30 Come early to enjoy all the sights sounds and fun.  Lots of things to enjoy and fun for the kids!

Tickets can be purchased at Calgary Co Op's, Marlborough Mall, and London Drugs locations throughout central and southern Alberta!
