Canada day is a great day to celebrate and in our house we have even more to celebrate with our second sons birthday falling on July 1st as well.  He is a very active boy who loves to be on the go and is as "boy" as they come.  My son loves that his birthday is extra special and actually thinks that the Canada maple leaf his a symbol of his birthday...ahhh to be five ;)

We have started a tradition of taking the whole family camping to celebrate his birthday, which is super fun but no minor feat with five small children. And because it f camping his birthday cakes have been well....quite the interesting looking creations. Lol imagine warm cake with dripping runny icing and what used to say Happy Birthday now looks like a big wiggly mess...but it works and he always loves them ;) and who gets cake camping anyway!!!

This year however it is a bit wet and we wanted to do something extra and fun so we decided to set up a Birthday celebration/ Canada Day sundae bar.  What better way to celebrate with ice cream and sprinkles!

I went to the local store and looked for anything red and
white that I could find to create my red and white Canada day theme.  I had to spend some time coming up with ideas as not much comes in just red and white.

Sprinkles, strawberry sauce, fresh strawberries , vanilla ice cream and I had to throw in some gummy bears to sweeten the pot! And best part mommy got to eat all the other colours! Woohoo

The boys had so so much fun creating their masterpieces and even more fun eating them! Yum!
We may just have to make this a new yearly tradition!

Happy Canada Day everyone!
And happy birthday to my sweet little five year old!
