DIY Diapers with Babyville Boutique

Home

I have wanted to give a try at making some diaper covers and diapers to see if  I could do it and have been looking around at fabric options and noticed that a lot of people use the Babyville Boutique PUL fabric probably because it has such cute prints!!  I was excited to get a chance to try Babyville PUL but was a bit worried as I am no great seamstress and really haven't sewn anything in years.

I was sent a package with 3 super cute PUL fabric pieces, fold over elastic, hook and loop closure, some very cute appliques and a idea and pattern book.
I started by making a simple diaper cover with fold over elastic.  which I LOVE but unfortunately I had some issues with my machine and it didn't turn out looking as nice as it could have :(  I was a little nervous about trying the FOE but decided to just do it and found it was very easy to do!  and the hook and loop closure is EXTREMELY strong!!
I was very happy to find that my regular little old machine was able to sew the PUL without any issues or even a different foot or needle!
I decided to try another diaper but went with a pocket style for it and used snaps instead of the hook and loop closure and LOVE it!!  It is so cute and i love that I can make it fit both boys with the snap rise!  I used the robot print for this one and I think it turned out so cute!!

I love that Babyville sent me the book as it have a lot of great tips and ideas in it!  I think I want to try making a nice big bib next!  Those look awesome!

  1. I am so interested! I have never used cloth diapers before, and we're wanting to have another baby, but I refuse to buy another diaper that goes in the trash. I think I would probably choose a neutral set just because we dont want to find out the sex of the baby.

  3. I made diapers for sale for several years and am finding that Babyville is softer than most PUL. Because it is so easy to work with many people are now making their won. I switched to using the solids in elader care items since the diapers did not sell as well.

  10. I will be trying to make some All-In-Ones. Could use a few more of those, and the plain covers are getting kinda boring.
